William F. "Bill" Payer
(May 14, 1933 - June 17, 2008) |

He
was a Firefighter/EMT for over 30 years. He was a member
of RACES (Emergency Ham Radio Service) WD6BKF; a
Scoutmaster; volunteer driver for the Bella Vista
Courtesy Van; Chauffer Driver and Community Search &
Rescue Volunteer. He moved to Bella Vista 14 years ago
from

was preceded in death by his parents.
He
is survived by his wife, Annette N. Payer of Bella
Vista, Arkansas; one son, Robert Martin Payer of
Camarillo, California; two daughters, Julie Ann Law of
Mesa, Arizona, Frances D. Radford of Bella Vista,
Arkansas; two sisters, Claudia Russell of Lake Tomahawk,
Wisconsin, Jeannette Sommerfeld of West Allis,
Wisconsin; six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
A
Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday,
June 20, 2008 at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel,
In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to

Mr. Payer spent most of his career working to insure his
firefighting brothers had reliable self contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) that they could depend upon
in an emergency.
"The Bill Payer Fire Fighters Respiratory Protection
Fund" will go to the Bella Vista Fire Department to be
used for maintenance and repairs on the self contained
breathing apparatus (SCBA) that the firefighters use
while fighting fires here in Bella Vista. Even after Mr.
Payers passing, he is still working to keep his
firefighting brothers safe while fighting fires.
