The Bella Vista Fire Department responded to a one
vehicle motor vehicle accident behind Walgreens near HWY
71. The Fire Department received a call reporting a
vehicle was upside down in the creek with someone still
inside.
The photo to the left shows Firefighter/Paramedic
Josh Whitaker removing the occupant of the vehicle. Upon
removal the occupant appeared lifeless.

Whitaker makes his way back to the shore with the
patient. He is being assisted by members of the Bella
Vista Fire Department. A rope was used to pull
them to the shore.
Upon removal of the patient from the water,
resuscitative efforts were started. The patient was
transported to a local hospital.

Above, Bentonville Fire Department personnel take
Whitaker to their ambulance to evaluate his condition
and warm him after his cold swim.
A special thanks to Bentonville Fire Department and
