Lieutenant Charlie Harp - Retired
Charlie began his career with the Bella
Vista Fire Dept. on September 2nd 1982. Since
then, he has been a valuable asset to the progression and
maintenance of the BVFD and to those who shared the pleasure
of working alongside him.
During this time, Charlie was disciplined
in the consistent acquisition of station equipment and
supply, and played an important role in inspection practices
and incident pre-planning, as well as personnel training and
mentorship of those whom he led. He was also a key player in
the design and production of our substation on the eastside
of the city (Station #2), and set forth a strict standard
for the long term care and maintenance of the station. His
role and influence here at the department will last for many
years to come through the many "Charlie-isms" we still
share.
With Charlie's decision to retire in
March of 2010 , the Bella Vista Fire & EMS and the Bella
Vista Ambulance Service express our gratitude and respect
for his 27 years of dedicated service to the both his
colleagues and to the citizens of the City of Bella Vista.
We wish him well in his new endeavors.
